Guggenheim Museum - New York

In 2005, some 12 layers of paint applied over the past 46 years were removed and the building’s concrete surface has been revealed, allowing for close analysis of the building’s surface. Detailed monitoring of the movement of selected cracks over an entire year, laser surveys, and other studies will be used by the restoration team to formulate an appropriate methodology to repair the cracks and ensure the building’s long-term health. Scaffolding will remain in place through spring 2008. The museum is expected to remain open throughout the restoration process.

Children's Museum of Manhattan

The mission of the Children's Museum of Manhattan is to inspire children and families to learn about themselves and our culturally diverse world through a unique environment of interactive exhibitions and programs.
Last year, CMOM served more than 350,000 people, which included 65,000 children who visited the Museum as part of a school group or through one of the Museum’s off-site partners. CMOM is committed to making its exhibits and programs available to all, and with nearly 50 sites around New York City, we continually reach thousands of families who might not otherwise be able to benefit from our services.

Intrepid Museum Reopens - New York

American Folk Art Museum - New York

Interesting volunteer and internship possibilities exist at both the American Folk Art Museum location at 45 West 53rd Street and at the administrative offices at 49 East 52nd Street. There are many exciting opportunities to work with the public or behind the scenes. We are looking for people whose time and talents meet the needs of the museum and who are able to make a regular weekly commitment. The amount of time required each week varies with the particular job assignment.
